Class Description:

Does it bother you to toss those small extra pieces?  Do you love the idea of the ultimate scrappy quilt?  Do you have orphan blocks that desperately need a home?  Come join us for an adventure in crumb quilting where we throw out most of the quilting rules to create the most unique I-Spy or scrappy quilt.  Crumbs from 1” or larger are welcome!  Don’t have enough?  Come and share with others for even more scrappiness.

Supplies List:
  • Sewing needles that work for your machine
  • Thread - I use a medium gray color
  • Rotary cutter (if you are adverse to using a rotary cutter, I suggest also bringing scissors and a marking tool to ensure your blocks are square).
  • Square ruler - I suggest a 6.5” or 8.5” as those will easily fit into other quilt blocks.  The size ruler will determine the size of your block.
Fabrics:
  • Variety of scraps - anything from 1” and larger.  Shapes add interest, so don’t worry if they aren’t squares or are a bit wonky!  Perhaps bring extra to swap (not required, but fun).
Equipment
  • Sewing machine (please add a note if you plan to use one of the shop machines)
  • Optional but helpful:  Rotary cutting mat, iron and ironing mat.  If you have the travel all in one, that’s a great option! There are some at the shop, but having your own is a great option.
Pre-Class Preparation:
  • Have a variety of scraps ready, maybe even an orphan block or two!  Sharing is fun too!
