Class Description:

Looking to get into some slow stitching, but the idea of sewing together hundreds (if not thousands) of hexagons seems boring?  Have you wanted to learn about English Paper Piecing (EPP), but aren’t sure where to start?  Come join this fun class to learn the ins and outs of EPP through a 6” non-hexagon design:  The Saguaro Pup!

Supplies List:
  • Hand sewing needles (I prefer Foxglove Cottage Straw or Sharps needles in size 9 or 10)
  • Coordinating thread - I often use a medium gray color for all my hand piecing.
  • Glue stick or glue pen
  • Scissors or rotary cutter
  • Paper scissors
  • Wonder Clips or Sew Tites
  • Optional but helpful:  Thimble, thread conditioner or beeswax, needle threader, light and readers if used when binding quilts.
Fabric
  • Cactus and Pot:  Variety of scraps in green and colorful for the pot (2.5” partial strips to 5” squares)
  • Background:  ¼ yard fabric
Equipment
  • NO sewing machine needed, this is a hand sewing project.
  • Rotary cutting mats are available in the classroom.
