Class Description:

Does the idea of sewing curves make you break out into a cold sweat?  Have no fear!  Come and join us in this fun class to finally conquer the curved piecing.  We will cut, pin/glue, and stitch beautiful curves and watch our stitches magically blend together.  By the end, you’ll wonder why you were ever afraid—and your quilt blocks will have some serious swooshy flair.  Let’s turn curve dread into curve confidence - one stitch at a time.

Conquering Curves  - Block pattern will be provided at class

Supplies:
  • Sewing needles that work for your machine
  • Thread - I use a medium gray color
  • 28mm Rotary cutter - The smaller cutter is ideal for cutting out the curved pieces.
  • Small cutting mat (6x8 is ideal!)
    • If you are adverse to using a rotary cutter, you will need scissors and a marking tool
  • Square ruler - 6.5” or 8.5” to square our blocks when finished.
  • Elmer’s School Glue - the regular bottle of glue (we have on at the shop you can borrow to test with the fine glue tip to see if you like it!)
  • Fineline Glue Tip (optional)
  • Pins
  • Paper cutting scissors
Fabrics:
  • Variety of fabrics, each block requires a minimum of TWO 5” x 6” pieces of fabric.  Contrasting colors work great.
Equipment
  • Sewing machine
  • Optional but helpful:  Iron and ironing mat.  If you have the travel all in one, that’s a great option! There are some at the shop, but having your own is a great option.
